The Boston Celtics have taken an early lead in the NBA Finals, defeating the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 in the series opener on Tuesday night. The Celtics were led by Jaylen Brown, who scored 22 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Brown was efficient from the field, shooting 9-of-18, and also contributed 4 assists.

Kristaps Porzingis made an immediate impact off the bench for the Celtics, adding 20 points and 9 rebounds. Porzingis was a force on the boards, helping the Celtics outrebound the Mavericks 55-39. Jayson Tatum also had a solid performance for the Celtics, scoring 19 points and grabbing 8 rebounds.

The Mavericks were led by Luka Doncic, who finished with 24 points and 9 rebounds. However, Doncic struggled to find his rhythm from the field, shooting just 9-of-27. The Mavericks also struggled from three-point range, hitting just 6-of-32 attempts.

The Celtics now have a 2-0 lead in the series and will look to take a commanding 3-0 lead when they host the Mavericks in Game 3 on Thursday night.
