Suns Guard Bradley Beal Out Two Weeks with Ankle Sprain

Injury Sustained in Friday's Game

Second Ankle Injury This Season

Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal has been sidelined for the next two weeks with a right ankle sprain, the team announced Monday.

Beal sustained the injury in Friday's game against the New York Knicks. He landed awkwardly on the foot of Knicks forward Donte DiVincenzo while attempting a 4-point play in the first quarter. Beal immediately left the game and did not return.

This is the second ankle injury Beal has suffered this season. He missed three games in December with a left ankle sprain.

"It's tough," Beal said after the game. "I'm just trying to get back on the court and help my team."

The Suns are currently 19-17 and 10th in the Western Conference standings. They will be without Beal for a crucial stretch of games, including a five-game road trip that begins on Tuesday.

"We've got a tough stretch coming up," Suns coach Monty Williams said. "But we're going to have to find a way to win without Bradley."

Beal is averaging 21.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game this season. He is one of the Suns' most important players and his absence will be a major blow.

The Suns will be hoping that Beal can return to action as soon as possible and help them make a push for the playoffs.
